Job Summary
The Junior Technical Support Engineer (Sales) will provide technical and commercial support to the Sales team by preparing proposals, understanding customer requirements, coordinating with internal departments, and assisting in delivering effective engineering solutions. This role offers an excellent opportunity for fresh graduates to gain hands-on experience in technical sales and customer support.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Sales Support
- Assist the Sales team in understanding customer requirements and technical specifications.
- Support the preparation of technical and commercial proposals.
- Review customer inquiries, RFQs, and tender documents.
- Coordinate with the Engineering team for technical clarifications and solution development.
2. Proposal & Documentation
- Prepare quotations, cost estimates, and supporting technical documents.
- Develop presentations, datasheets, and product information for customers.
- Maintain accurate records of proposals, customer communications, and project documentation.
3. Customer Coordination
- Respond to customer technical queries under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Coordinate with customers for additional information required during the proposal stage.
- Support follow-up activities to ensure timely submission of quotations.
4. Internal Coordination
- Work closely with Design, Production, Procurement, and Project teams to gather technical information.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure proposal accuracy and timely delivery.
5. Market & Product Support
- Assist in researching market trends, competitor products, and customer requirements.
- Stay updated on company products, technologies, and industry developments.
- Support the Sales team during exhibitions, client meetings, and technical presentations when required.
6. Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain proposal trackers and sales support documentation.
- Prepare periodic reports on quotation status and customer inquiries.
- Identify opportunities to improve proposal preparation processes and technical documentation.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of engineering principles and industrial equipment.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Eagerness to learn technical products and sales processes.
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to AutoCAD or other engineering software is an added advantage.
- Internship or project experience in technical sales, engineering design, or manufacturing is desirable.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or process engineering industries is a plus.
